Mom & Motherhood Prophecy Series

SESSION 1: Ages 2–5

Understanding My Child Without Losing Myself

For parents and caretakers of young children with neurodevelopmental differences

A compassionate, guided session to help parents and caretakers understand their young children without losing themselves in the process.

Understanding Development

  • Understanding uneven development
  • Why comparison to other children increases fear and confusion
  • What does "early support" actually mean?

Behavior & Communication

  • Understanding meltdowns, shutdowns, and resistance
  • Why compliance is not a learning goal at this age
  • Supporting regulation before teaching skills
  • What screaming, avoidance, or repetitive behaviors may be communicating
  • Common early triggers (transitions, sensory overload, demands)
  • Building trust through predictable responses

Navigating Support

  • Understanding the roles of different professionals (therapy ≠ parenting)
  • How to choose support without drowning in appointments

Parental Wellbeing

  • Normalizing mixed emotions after diagnosis or concern
  • Releasing self-blame, denial, and "what if" thinking
  • Protecting parental mental health during early intervention years
This is not about doing more — it's about doing what's right for this stage.
